This yard has an interesting history going back many years. First known as Freeland Lumber and Sawmill, it was later acquired by the Copeland Lumber Company and in 1999 became a part of the Frontier Family. After it was acquired from Copeland, the yard continued to operate in the old location behind the Freeland Cafe in an orange building (Copeland) with green signage (Frontier). Ugly perhaps, but effective. Growth ensued and in the spring of 2001, we moved into our current 4-acre site off Main Street to become the foremost building materials center on South Whidbey Island.
